Every great story has an unexpected beginning.
Ours started in college, with Rubal stealing Gaurja's lunch. He had no idea that those few bites would end up costing him for the rest of his life—but looking back, it was the best debt he could have ever owed.
Brunch for Rubal, dinner for Gaurja—love served across time zones!
The biggest hurdle
Then came Canada.
A different country. Different time zones. Thousands of miles apart.
What followed were months of video calls, endless countdowns, missed hugs, and celebrating milestones through a screen. It wasn't easy, but every day apart only reminded us why we were holding on.
Sometimes, distance doesn't weaken love—it reveals just how strong it really is.
Together after seventeen months
Seventeen months later…
Together at last
Seventeen months. That's how long it took before we could finally see each other again.
No more screens. No more phone calls. Just sitting across from each other, hearing each other's voices in person and sharing a meal together once again.
The food wasn't anything extraordinary, but somehow it became one of the best meals of our lives. After all that time apart, simply being together was more than enough.
As wonderful as that visit was, it also meant saying goodbye all over again. But this time, the finish line finally felt within reach.
Gaurja’s first day in Canada—naturally, her first stop had to be Canada’s chai tapri (roadside tea stall)!
Twenty months. Done and dusted.
The wait was finally over
Three months later, twenty months of long distance had come to an end.
No more airports. No more countdowns. No more wondering when we'd see each other next. Just the excitement of finally being in the same place and getting to build a life together, one ordinary day at a time.

We thought surviving long distance meant the hardest part was over. If only it were that simple.
Being together every day brought its own challenges, disagreements, compromises, and plenty of learning. But every obstacle only made us more confident in the person we'd chosen.
Love isn't about never fighting. It's about finding your way back to each other, every single time.

The easiest “Yes”
He asked. She said yes.
After seven and a half years of countless laughs, endless conversations, a fair share of arguments, unforgettable memories, and more love than either of us could have imagined…
He asked. She said yes. And just like that, another beautiful chapter began.
